On the Panel with Manuela Schwesig – Hanse Sail Wirtschaftstreff 2026

Courage. Action. Opportunities.

At the Hanse Sail Wirtschaftstreff, our CEO Ulrike Sailer took part in the panel discussion “Female Leadership – Courage. Action. Opportunities.” speaking about leadership, responsibility, and the courage to forge new paths — a topic closely tied to the development of neoplas med.

She shared her own transition from the international corporate world into the start-up landscape. A path where not every next step is fully mapped out, and where it matters all the more to take responsibility, make decisions, and recognize opportunities.

Because medical technology requires staying power. Between a promising scientific idea and its successful application lie clinical evidence, regulatory requirements, technological advancement, and the development of international markets.

This makes leadership all the more important — leadership that brings different perspectives together, takes responsibility, and provides direction even when the path ahead isn’t yet fully defined. Today, our cold plasma technology is used internationally in both human and veterinary medicine.

Many thanks to Manuela Schwesig, Nadja Ballauf, Christina Hankel, and Gyde Wortmann for the open and personal exchange, as well as to Carsten Klehn for skillfully moderating the discussion. Our thanks also go to the organizing team of the Hanse Sail, the State Chancellery of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Rostock Business, and Invest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for the wonderful setting and the many valuable encounters.

The shared afternoon aboard the Artemis afterward offered the opportunity to continue the conversations on the Baltic Sea and make new connections. For us, “Courage. Action. Opportunities.” means turning scientific potential into concrete medical solutions — and consistently continuing on that path.
