21st National Health Economy Conference

Three days in Rostock, more than 600 participants from business, science, politics, and healthcare – the 21st National Health Economy Conference once again demonstrated why it is considered one of Germany’s most important industry gatherings.
Medical technology, digitalization, artificial intelligence, prevention, and workforce development: these are precisely the areas that will determine whether our industry delivers on its promise.
This year’s focus on Latvia as the partner country highlighted how consistently the healthcare sector is already looking beyond Germany’s borders. The growing cooperation between Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Baltic state is also reflected in our own activities: on behalf of Neoplas, initial discussions have already been initiated.
Minister-President Manuela Schwesig drew a positive conclusion, stating that Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is “well positioned for the years ahead thanks to the close cooperation between business, science, and healthcare.”
What Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Wolfgang Blank added aligns with what we experience every day: the healthcare industry is not a niche sector but rather “a key driver of growth and an important employer contributing to the resilience of our country.” The recognition as a Healthcare Industry Lighthouse in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, awarded to us by Minister-President Schwesig in 2024, is both an incentive and a responsibility that we take seriously.
Our sincere thanks go to Prof. Dr. Marek Zygmunt and BioCon Valley GmbH for the outstanding organization of this event – a platform that fosters genuine dialogue, collaboration, and fresh inspiration.
